Immunization Resources for Healthcare Providers
The resources listed here are vaccine provider education and enrollment, storage and handling information, and resources to share with patients. Please encourage parents to make sure their children receive all of the CDC-recommended vaccines, in addition to the ones required for California school and child care entry.
Proper storage and handling techniques are critical to a safe and effective vaccination program. Failure to adhere to recommendations for proper storage and handling can reduce vaccine potency resulting in inadequate protection against disease. In this section learn how you and your staff can be the first line of defense in protecting your patients from improperly handled vaccines.
Recommendations, guidelines, and tips for the proper storage and handling of vaccines:
Fax your order form to the Immunization Program (408) 947-8752
Please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery
Vaccine Information Statements (VISs) are information sheets produced by the CDC that explain both the benefits and risks of a vaccine to vaccine recipients. Federal law requires that healthcare staff provide a VIS to a patient, parent, or legal representative before each dose of certain vaccines.
